In the career field of Forensic psychology is a mixture of Psychology and of the career field Criminal Justice system. When using this in the court system its used by eight folds and the eight folds are:
- Evaluation of possible malingering
- Assessment of mental state for insanity plea
- Competency to stand trial
- Prediction of violence and assessment of risk
- Evaluation of child custody in divorce
- Assessment of personal injury
- Interpretation of polygraph data
- Specialized forensic personality assessment
Its a very rewarding job, you'll be dealing with criminals like never before, get to know them better and even maybe see the reasons why they did such a horrible crime. So they go through evaluations to see if they can go through a trial or if they really knew what they were doing.
